bNormals
bNormals is a Houdini HDA that generates brush-stroke normals across an object’s surface. A flow map, either hand-painted or procedurally generated, controls the direction of every stroke.
How it works
A custom OpenCL kernel running in COPs drives the tool. Once the target object is specified, the HDA reads its material and applies the result automatically, with no manual hookup.
Artistic control
Jitter: randomizes brush placement
Offset, scale, and rotation: adjustable per brush, to break up repetition
Custom attribute: drives a per-brush normal offset, letting you push or exaggerate the effect where you need it
